If you’ve ever wanted to try out a high end cruising experience, and you think traveling with me sounds like fun – I have a group sailing with Windstar Cruises in 2025 aboard the Star Pride. This is a small ship experience, so only about 300 passengers will travel from Portugal to Morocco through the Strait of Gibraltar, and into Spain.

The trip is a bucket list item for my cousin Victoria, so a bunch of family and friends have already signed up. It will be the trip of a lifetime.

Enjoy the melancholy sounds of Fado music in Portugal, sample the spice markets in Morocco, and enjoy a small plate in the home of tapas.

People travel to Africa for three reasons: (1) the pyramids of Egypt, (2) safaris, and (3) the spice markets of Morocco. With two ports in Morocco you have the chance to visit an iconic spice market and cross number 3 off that list. Not only that, this is a unique way to knock Africa off your 7 continent challenge.

The food on this cruise will be top notch. Windstar prides themselves on serving food tied to their destinations. It’s common that passengers actually accompany the chef on a shopping trip to the local markets. Imagine shopping with the chef and then seeing the food they purchase end up on your plate later.

As for the finances, it isn’t as cheap as the mass market cruises, but it isn’t the most expensive cruise available either. I have exclusive pricing that is lower than what you can get by yourself, you’ll get $100 shipboard credit per person, and if we get enough people the cruise line will be giving our group an exclusive cocktail hour.
